#TBT: Lin-Manuel Miranda at LA

We knew him when…

At the time Lin-Manuel Miranda was already the Tony and Grammy-winning composer-lyricist of Broadway’s In the Heights (which received four 2008 Tony Awards, with Miranda receiving a Tony Award for Best Score, and a nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical).

Since then, well, he’s become LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA, and we’ve marveled at his work on Hamilton, on the soundtracks of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Moana.

Soon, we’ll see our Mees Visiting Scholar in Disney’s sequel to 1964’s Mary Poppins.

Now, we stand in awe of his work on behalf of hurricane survivors in Puerto Rico.

In any case, as we begin preparations for this year’s Mees Scholar, we celebrate TBT (throwback Thursday) with a look back at Mr. Miranda’s visit to campus.

We’ll be announcing this year’s Mees Visiting Scholar soon!
