Spartan’s Seibold is a National Champion; LA Girls’ Hockey Junior Takes Title As Member of Boston Junior Eagles

Irvine, California — Add Jenna Seibold ’20 to the ever-growing list of successful skaters to wear the red, white, and blue of the Lawrence Academy Spartans.

Seibold, a junior on the LA girls’ ice hockey team, participated in the “Chipotle USA Hockey National Championship” last week in Irvine, California and brought home a title; this time wearing the maroon and gold of the Boston Junior Eagles.

Caught in-between classes here on the elm tree-shaded hillside, Seibold spoke about her team’s accomplishment and her own superlatives away from LA’s Grant rink.

“I am, for sure, still in shock about winning nationals,” said Jenna. “It’s a very big thing that our team’s been working toward since our squad was even put together.”

LA girls’ hockey head coach and athletic director Kevin Potter was one of the first to know about the win, and he immediately passed on his kudos to Seibold and her squad.

“We are very proud of Jenna and her accomplishments with the Boston Junior Eagles program,” he said. “She is a dedicated player who works hard both on-and-off the ice to be the best student-athlete she can be.”

All of that work paid off for Seibold and her teammates.

“Being a half-season team is tough just because we don’t see each other as much as other teams,” explained Seibold, “but playing in the ISL helped us all stay ready to go over the winter which was big.”
