From the Desk of Dan Scheibe, Head of School
Dear Friends,

I have news I am excited to share on behalf of the school. Chris Davey P ’10 ’16 has joined Lawrence Academy in the new position of Assistant Head for Institutional Strategy and Advancement. A political science major, Chris graduated from Amherst College, where he also played varsity hockey for four years. He was a founding member of Sapient Corporation (now part of Publicis Group) where he worked from 1993 to 2019. Most recently, Chris served as Chief Strategist and Global Head of Partnerships, the latest in a series of senior positions in the organization. He also recently served as a board member or in an advisory capacity for several companies including Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Salesforce, TPCR, Prevent Biometrics and Hypergiant. Finally, Chris served on the LA Board of Trustees from 2014 to 2019.
Chris’s most important credentials, however, emanate from his long-time relationship with Lawrence Academy: Chris is the father of Director of Enrollment Management, Sara Davey Gillis ’10 and Margaret Davey ’16, and the father-in-law of Logan Gillis ’09, a member of the math faculty as well as a hockey and baseball coach at the school. Growing out of the many relationships Chris has developed over the years as a fellow Groton resident, friend, and neighbor, Chris is foremost a champion and enthusiast for what makes Lawrence Academy singular and strong.
At Lawrence Academy, Chris now oversees admissions, marketing, communications, and advancement; most centrally, he will be involved in helping to shape and position the school’s identity and educational program so that LA may be seen both internally and externally as an innovator and leader in high school education locally, nationally and internationally. Working towards the strategic designs we have laid out while even further developing LA’s long-range planning will require both great execution and imagination, and we are delighted to have Chris on board to help move the school forward with a sense of opportunity and aspiration.
As part of the extended Lawrence Academy family, your relationship with the school is fundamentally important to the past, present, and future of LA. Please join us in welcoming Chris to the LA community. Eager to empower LA to advance in both strategy and relationship, Chris can be reached at cdavey@lacademy.edu or at 978-448-1571.
Warm regards,
Dan Scheibe
