We wanted to share with you all the exciting news that Jo-Ann Lovejoy P ’06, ’08, ’10 has joined the Lawrence Academy development team serving as Director of Alumni Development and Alumni Trustee Giving.

P ’06, ’08, ’10
Jo-Ann brings over two decades of academic development experience beginning as a volunteer Annual Fund Parent solicitor at The Fenn School in the mid-’90s, where she played the role of Annual Fund Campaign Co-Chair role (with her husband Monty) in 2001-2002. Following Fenn, and as a freshly minted sophomore LA parent, Jo-Ann joined the Lawrence Academy Annual Fund Committee in 2003. The LA Annual Fund Director at the time, Judy Clark, successfully moved her through the ranks of Annual Fund Grade Co-Chair, Senior Parent Gift Committee Co-Chair, Annual Fund Parent’s Chair, and then back to Senior Parent Gift Committee member in 2010.
Jo-Ann concurrently became the Director of Annual Giving at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in 2007, serving the Cambridge institution for five years. Her oversight included Parents, Past Parents, Grandparents, and Faculty. Her tenure there was highlighted by unprecedented Annual Fund giving levels at the school between 2008 and 2011 and the restoration of confidence in the giving program. She was invited to become an inaugural member of BB&N’s Leadership Academy in 2010-2012, which promoted continuing leadership training among faculty and staff members.
Building upon her BB&N experience and her volunteerism at Lawrence Academy, Jo-Ann joined Middlesex School in 2012 as a Major Gift Officer who would support the school’s capital campaign as well as further the goals of alumni, parent and past parent giving. Managing a national leadership portfolio of 250+ constituents, she worked and traveled with her teammates to increase reunion giving and participation among alumni and to successfully complete the school’s capital campaign of $230 million dollars directed to endowment and campus building initiatives. As a non-teaching member of the faculty, Jo-Ann also assumed advisory duties for five students and was the faculty co-advisor to the school’s student yearbook committee.
Jo-Ann’s development experiences are punctuated by her earlier corporate sales and marketing career in Boston with Xerox Corporation and with the Bank of Boston serving as a sales representative and an International Officer in the bank’s International Division, respectively. While at the Bank of Boston, Jo-Ann was tapped to chair the bank-wide United Way Campaign managing a full staff during a six month sabbatical from her regular duties.
Jo-Ann and her husband Monty live in Concord where together they manage the family vegetable garden while tending to a flock of hens, a hive of honeybees and their spirited Brittany spaniel, Elsie. Jo-Ann is thrilled to report that their three LA alumni children, George ’06, Spencer ’08, and Jordan ’10 (along with their wife, fiancé, and boyfriend, respectively) visit them quite often.
Please join us in welcoming Jo-Ann. Stop by the Development Office to say hello!
